Tools, resources and software I use daily.

Cloud Provider

AWS

Cloud Computing Platform and Service

I use AWS to design scalable, high-availability cloud environments and deploy workloads with flexibility and control. I work with services such as EC2, S3, and IAM to manage virtual infrastructure, implement secure storage solutions, and control access across environments. I enjoy using AWS for its modular approach and breadth of services, which allows me to tailor solutions to specific project needs. Whether I’m hosting applications, configuring networking, or exploring new cloud capabilities, AWS gives me the tools to build reliable and resilient infrastructure.

Azure

Cloud Computing Platform and Service

I use Microsoft Azure as a cloud computing platform that lets me build, deploy, and manage IT infrastructure and applications at scale without relying on physical hardware. I work with Azure to design secure, high performing systems, automate provisioning, and implement modern cloud solutions. What I enjoy most is how flexible it is, offering everything from virtual machines and networking to CI/CD pipelines, AI tools, and identity management. It supports Infrastructure, Platform, and Software as a Service, which gives me the freedom to architect solutions that suit both technical and business needs.

GCP

Cloud Computing Platform and Service

I’ve gained hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform through client work, mainly around day-to-day administration and supporting existing environments. I’m comfortable working with core services such as Compute Engine, IAM, and billing, as well as handling general sysadmin tasks within GCP. While it isn’t the main cloud I work in compared to Azure or AWS, using GCP in real projects has given me a solid understanding of how resources are structured, secured, and managed in Google’s ecosystem.

Infrastructure & Development

Framer

Web Design Platform

Framer is my most loved web builder currently, which evolved from a UI and prototyping tool in 2020 into a nocode web builder in 2022. It has everything you will need to ship wonderful websites fast: CMS, custom design inside a canvas like in Figma, crazy good performance thanks to react and server-side rendering, advanced motion capabilities due to their own animation library Framer Motion and a growing amount of useful third-party integrations.

Grafana

Monitoring & Observability

I use Grafana to visualise infrastructure and application performance, turning raw telemetry data into meaningful dashboards and alerts. It allows me to proactively monitor systems, identify trends, and troubleshoot issues before they impact users. I enjoy using Grafana for its flexibility and ability to integrate with data sources like Prometheus, which makes it ideal for maintaining high-performing environments. Whether I'm tracking service health, visualising metrics, or analysing system behaviour over time, Grafana helps me gain real-time insight and make data-informed decisions.

iTerm2

Terminal Emulator

I use iTerm2 as my preferred terminal on macOS because it offers powerful features that streamline command-line work and improve productivity. I enjoy its split panes, session management, advanced search, and ability to customise workflows, especially when handling multiple environments or running simultaneous tasks. Whether I’m writing scripts, managing servers, or debugging infrastructure issues, iTerm2 gives me a fast, flexible, and highly configurable CLI experience that supports efficient engineering practices.

K9s

Infra as Code

I use K9s to interact with Kubernetes clusters directly from the terminal, giving me a fast and efficient way to monitor workloads, inspect resources, and troubleshoot issues in real time. I like it because it streamlines cluster navigation without needing to constantly switch contexts or rely solely on the web UI. Whether reviewing pod health, checking logs, or managing deployments, K9s helps me stay close to the infrastructure and work more efficiently within containerised environments.

Lens

Kubernetes IDE

I use Lens as a visual interface to manage Kubernetes clusters more efficiently. It gives me real-time visibility into workloads, nodes, logs, and performance metrics, which makes troubleshooting and monitoring so much faster compared to working purely via CLI. I enjoy using Lens because it streamlines cluster management, helps me quickly spot issues, and improves operational awareness across environments. It’s an essential tool in my workflow for maintaining healthy Kubernetes deployments and optimising containerised infrastructure.

Prometheus

Metrics & Monitoring

I use Prometheus to collect and store system and application metrics, enabling real-time monitoring and alerting. Its time-series database and powerful query language (PromQL) allow me to track performance trends, detect anomalies, and support incident response effectively. I value Prometheus for its reliability and native integration with Kubernetes and Grafana, making it ideal for observability in cloud and containerised environments. Whether monitoring resource utilisation, latency, or service health, Prometheus provides the foundation for data-driven operational insight.

Terraform

Infra as Code

I use Terraform to automate and manage infrastructure deployments in a consistent, scalable, and repeatable way. I enjoy working with it because it allows me to define infrastructure as code, making environments more predictable and easy to manage across teams. Whether I’m provisioning Azure resources, configuring cloud networking, or orchestrating multi-stage environments, Terraform helps me streamline deployment processes, minimise errors, and improve version control across infrastructure changes. It’s a key tool in my workflow for implementing modern DevOps practices and delivering reliable environments efficiently

Visual Studio Code

Code Editor

I use Visual Studio Code as my primary development environment because it’s lightweight, highly customisable, and supports a wide range of programming languages and extensions. I enjoy using it to write scripts, automate tasks, troubleshoot infrastructure, and experiment with new technologies. With features like integrated terminals, Git control, and AI-assisted development tools, VS Code enables me to work efficiently and adapt my workflow depending on the project, whether it's PowerShell scripting, YAML configuration, or testing automation pipelines.

Cybersecurity

Trivy

Vulnerability Scanning

I use Trivy to scan container images, container registries, repositories, and infrastructure configurations for known vulnerabilities and misconfigurations. Beyond image scanning, I’ve worked with it to assess codebases and infrastructure as code, as well as leveraging tools like Trivy Operator for continuous security monitoring within Kubernetes environments. I value Trivy for its versatility and ease of integration into CI/CD pipelines, helping embed security directly into development workflows and supporting a proactive, secure-by-design approach across cloud-native infrastructure

OpenVPN

Network Security

I use OpenVPN to enable secure remote access to infrastructure environments, ensuring data is encrypted in transit and that remote connections are properly authenticated. It's particularly useful when managing systems and servers over untrusted networks, and I value it for its reliability, configurability, and support across platforms. Whether accessing cloud environments, lab networks, or admin consoles, OpenVPN provides a secure channel that aligns with best practices in cyber and network security.

SentinelOne

Endpoint Security

I use SentinelOne to protect endpoints with AI-driven threat detection, prevention, and automated response capabilities. It enables me to monitor devices in real time, identify advanced threats, and isolate or remediate incidents without manual intervention. I like working with SentinelOne because it combines behavioural analysis with rapid response actions, reducing risk and improving overall security posture. Whether it’s detecting zero-day attacks, analysing suspicious processes, or automating remediation, SentinelOne gives me confidence that endpoints remain secure and resilient.
